This has been a week full of news about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), but questions may remain for you and your employees. We have been monitoring the information and have created a Coronavirus Resources page on the Johnson & Dugan website as a convenience for our clients: https://www.johnsondugan.com/coronavirus-resources/

We will monitor and update the page regularly and will send out follow-up messages when there is significant news to report related to the virus and any impact it may have on your employees and your business.

Tests for the virus are not yet readily available and must be approved through a physician. The CDC recommends contacting the state Health Department for information on testing in your area:

Insurance carriers are releasing their policies on reimbursement for COVID-19 testing and treatment directly to their policyholders.

Companies that offer high deductible health plans (HDHPs) should be aware that the IRS has released clarification about reimbursement for COVID-19 testing and treatment. The deductible for these services will not apply, and HDHPs can cover these services before the deductible is met. The attached UBA Compliance Alert HSAs – What You Need to Know has been updated to include this clarification.
